The position of Service Engineer for our client, will be responsible for responding and rectification to customer calls, plus conducting Preventative Maintenance Visits to contracted sites, via instruction from Service Help Desk. This position will also be part of an Out of Hours Call Rota, providing service support to the client base. The post-holder will work within the Service Team, and comply with NSI legislation and adher to in-house rules and regulations. The post-holder will have extensive field experience in service and maintenance of large integrated security systems including CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Detection Systems. Further experience preferable with Pelco and C-Cure Access Control systems. The post-holder should ideally possess a City & Guilds or NVQ qualification in Electronic Engineering or equivalent. As the area of coverage is for the North and East of England, candidate location would be preferred to be Leeds, York or Sheffield. It is a basic 40 hour week but in reality with travelling and overtime, about 50 – 55 paid hours. They will be required to be part of an on call shift rota. A small van will come with the post and hourly rate will be around £13+ per hour, depending on experience and skills. Basic terms in addition to the above is as follows: Holiday: 21 days plus 8 statutory holidays, increasing to 22 days following completion of 2 calendar years (Jan to Dec), then increasing to 26 days following completion of 5 full calendar years. The purpose of the role is as follows: To source and secure project and small works opportunities,providing quotations for both Fire and Security applications, generally within existing service base. Survey, design and estimate for all aspects of offering to include Fire design capability. Principal Estimating Accountabilities: · Design both Fire and Security systems · Providing quotations,tenders and proposals as necessary based upon information supplied and carry out additional surveying as necessary. · Work within agreed timescales with client and submit Small works quotations as necessary. · Complete correspondence and documentation, in line with either small works or Tender clients requirements. Principal Sales Accountabilities: · Work with Service Teams and to identify opportunities for additional works · Liase with clients to identify innovative solutions that would be of interest · Deliver and present proposals to prospective clients. · On submission of Tenders or significant small works, progress until decision is made as necessary. · Work with Mangement Team to identify opportunities for additional works. · Monitor Customer Quotation Team process, and update as necessary for completeness of information · Actively assist with Regional Management to ensure that small works quotations are a priority. · Work towards small works and Tender submission Targets. · Actively keep abreast of competitors methodologies, on both Fire & Security applications, Fire Detection and Alarm, Intruder CCTV and Card Access. · Participate in the Key Account Management methodologies in order to secure long term relationships with both internal and external client base.
